The clients had lived in this place for over ten years before they decided to renovate. The best part of the house was where the kitchen was as it gained the northern light. Both clients loved to cook so the design located the kitchen so that it related to both the external deck, a much loved construction created by the owner, as well as the inside dining area. The peninsular kitchen had bi-folding windows that when open allowed the landscape to become part of the kitchen. The upper level was a sensitive addition in an existing Balmain cottage including a deck.
