The aim of this project was the renovation of a terrace that was poorly laid out, with the bathroom at the rear severely restricting any relationship to the rear back yard. The design included replacing the rear part of the house with a new kitchen, living and dining area and extending the upper level of the terrace to include an additional main bedroom and bathroom.

The design created an internal courtyard which the kitchen and informal dining area faced, providing a connection between the external garden and the internal living areas. It also provided an opportunity of utilizing the beautiful northern light that now floods into the rest of the living areas, brightening them considerably and creating a lovely, natural atmosphere within the house.
