The brief was to make alterations and additions to an existing free-standing house. This involved retaining the lovely 19th century façade and front area of the house and demolishing the rear section. The newly created space provided a family living area, including kitchen and dining spaces which opened out onto the back garden, creating a sense of space enhanced by the relatiinship between the internal and external sections of the home. As well as this a bedroom and bathroom was added to the upper level of the house to meet the family’s living requirements.
