North Bondi

This project is for my family. We bought the Bondi property in 1999 and have staged the renovation over the past eight years. Initially, we renovated the back yard and converted the garage into an office, which I use for my work. Four years ago we began work on the lower level, knocking out the walls at the back. I needed to accommodate the lifestyle issues caused by the fact that I periodically entertain my entire family of 25-30 people for dinner and therefore it required the potential to extend the table right down the room. I solved this problem and at the same time maximized the spatial potential by creating a long, sweeping room with a floor-to-ceiling view out into the garden which acted as a kitchen, living and dining area combined. A year ago we completed the renovations by adding an extra level that accommodates three bedrooms and a bathroom, creating a house with the capacity to house our family comfortably.
