This freestanding house desperately needed to be upgraded as the rear, including the kitchen was built virtually on the dirt. The design retained the front two bedrooms after which the rest of the house was demolished. North was to the side where there was an existing 2 storey house. The design located the stairs in the middle of the house utilizing under the stairs as part of the kitchen. Dormer windows over the stairwell captured the northern light to the middle of the house and with the highlight louvers provided good natural cross ventilation. The upper level contained a main bedroom with large walk-in-robe and ensuite and on the other side of the stairs the main bathroom and two bedrooms. |
