I am delighted to invite you to my upcoming solo exhibition, “Mosaics and Etchings,” opening this June at The Shop Gallery in Glebe.
While many of you know me through my work as an Architect, my creative practice has always extended beyond the drawing board. This exhibition represents a deeply personal exploration of texture, light, and form—elements that are central to architecture, but which I approach here through the tactile mediums of glass mosaic and traditional etching.

Exploring the Intersection of Art and Architecture
As an architect, I am constantly thinking about how materials meet and how light defines a space. In my mosaics, I find a similar challenge. Using hand-cut glass and smalti, I build surfaces that change throughout the day as the light hits them, much like the facade of a building. From the rhythmic patterns of a breaking wave to the whimsical portraiture of “The Cow,” these pieces are about finding beauty in the assembly of small, disparate parts.

In contrast, my etchings and watercolours allow for a different kind of precision. You will see a series of works inspired by the urban landscape—specifically the narrow canals and weathered facades of Venice. These works are a nod to the historical structures that inform my architectural sensibilities, captured with the fine lines and atmospheric washes that only printmaking and watercolour can provide.

Join Me for the Opening
Art and architecture are two sides of the same coin; both are about how we perceive and inhabit the world around us. I would love to share these works with you and discuss the inspirations behind them.
