Edgecliff Apartment
The clients were a young couple embarking on the journey of starting a family.
The existing staircase was modified so that it no longer went outside to get to the rumpus room below. Opening up the stairs also provided a strong visual connection from the kitchen to the outdoor entertainment areas.
Walls were opened up, so the kitchen flowed into the dining space more fluidly. Previously there were steps everywhere; these levels were corrected so the entertaining area feels like one space rather than a collection of sections.
The kitchen opening was increased and joinery spilled into the dining room. Additional joinery at the entry provided dual storage for coats, as well as overflow of pantry for the kitchen.
